Post Railboard, sound
Hi,
About a month ago, I bought a used 10-String-railboard from SE and I'm very happy with it.
Nevertheless, there is a little something ...
The sound on the melody side is a bit too much piano, too little guitar for me. Do you have some tips for me as I get the sound a bit more towards acoustic guitar or the older wooden Stick models?

Thank's

Best Regards, Andi

You can alter the sound somewhat through pedals, MIDI, and choice of amplifiers. Yes, the railboard sounds a little different because it has a different pickup. If you get a wooden stick, it will sound different from the railboard, but IMO the sound will not be guitar-like unless you modify the sound via pedals.

I use both the Railboard and a vintage Stick.
I've always liked the vintage Stick tone better.

However, I recently purchased a Line 6 Helix Floor and things have changed.
I now prefer the Railboard for the tones that are produced thru the Helix.

Hi,

thank's for your answers.
I am currently playing the Railboard through a Presonus Bluetube V2 preamp->Eventide H9 (EQ Compressor)->Eventide H9 (Effect) -> Yamaha M XU 10 Mixer-> PA.
Is the Line6 helix capable of different effects for bass and melody? I only see one instrument input ...

Best Regards, Andi

use the filter, also, roll off highs and add low mids...

and play right behind the fret...

hi greg,

thank's for your helpful comment!
do you know the frequency ranges in the heights and lower mids that are effective?

Best Regards, Andi

Yes, I use one of the four 'Return' inputs to drive the Railboard Bass side.

Hi,
after 4 months of railboard I'm not happy with the sound.
Do you have any recommendations, e.g. EQ settings to get the railboard more in the direction of the wooden sticks?

Best Regards, Andi

You could try an acoustic simulator pedal.

The Line 6 Helix was the solution to my problem. 8-)
I'm now having fun with the Railboard.
