Post StickMan
Just finished this book, good read. I will be trying out the offset modal system soon. Great stuff, definitely a genius, and an amazing person. Where is the documentary? I see a lot about it, but cannot find it, is it complete, does anyone know? Is there any more info on the offset modal system, besides a couple of articles that i found? Any input would be great, thanks.

true, great book! A real insight into the history of the instrument that has fully absorbed me. The documentary has been talked about for a long time. Dan Chapman showed a "trailer" at Spanish StickCamp. looked really good. Not sure where that's at now.

Yes indeed, Stick Man is a great book. After reading of the development of Emmett Chapman's concepts and especially Emmett's own musical evolution, I really came to understand and appreciate all the intricate design details within the present Sticks and Railboards. Thanks to Emmett's persistence and openness to exploring new ideas, the Stick has evolved to near perfection.

Thanks to author Jim Reilly as well for his masterful investigations and clear, articulate writing.

Just saw this post. Someone please tell Paul Allen to fund this project.

Yes. I'm still shooting and planning, but it's been kind of tough, lately, without the funding for completion. I have so much in the can, and yet, there is still so much I want to do. Devoting the chunk of time it takes to edit, is now the challenge. Editing is where you build the story. And it's a big house of a story.

I screened an important segment for a brilliant fellow Stickist last month, here in my studio. I want him (or someone) to score a critical dramatic moment, that we shot during the last Free Hands Academy. A very tearful segment. I recently shot a kitchen interview of Em & Yuta in a wonderful and revealing interview of them together, the first time on film. Still waiting for a followup interview.

For anyone reading, who hasn't seen my 7:42min screener, it's been up on my doc site for the longest time now. http://www.chapdoc.com/

Thanks for your interest.

I appreciate your interest. I shot a segment about Em's Offset Modal System at Interlochen, in Michigan. I want to do a musical animated demo of it. Maybe something with this kind of visual/audial interaction.

You can see a partial Offset Modal System chart on this page:

Hey Dan I heard a lot about the interlocken camp and Emmett explaining it. I’m sad I missed it
