Technically..how can you put 2-3 fingers in the same position ?!

It's exactly what I was thinking...it's not what you meant. I can tell you that I play a Godin MultiAct fretless (nylon strings) and I play rarely chords. I consider this instrument as a melodic one. Like a sax, a flute, a trumpet, etc...

If you call this a chord when there are 2 notes...it's possible but not easy to play. 3 notes...if they are aligned on the same position that's possible too. On my guitar I can play an A position chord with one finger all the second fret position...even though there is no fret. A little vibrato (like a violin or other fretless instrument) and you can reach your goal. To play a chord like C7#7b9...forget about it...

At the end of the day I prefer by far to play it as a melodic instrument. So many things to explore this way...glissando, slight out of tune if you wish, quarter tones (indian music), etc...

Hoping you'll find an answer here.

By example, trying to hit the add9 (e.g. CGD) in the bass will probably be a bit out of tune

exactly what i meant..so i guess it will some kind of compromise.

CGD can be played with a Barre. If you want that done meloducally, just pluck individually with other hand.
Sliding that Barre creates a mighty big Fat sound

Depends where you play it. Too low it will sounds mudy...what I call low interval limits (well, this expression is not from me but from Berklee). You can play it an octave higher then and it sounds good. But...don't forget about this vibrato to be in tune or to give the impression to the listeners you are...lol. It's not a mistake...all fretless instrumentists do it. I play cello and I do it...lile all cellists. I do the same on my fretless guitar. It's completly normal. Good luck.
