I think the s/n was 212 ??

It is amazing what comes up for sale.......

Boaz, I think that first one sold - it's no longer on Reverb, nor is the 12 string Grand with the slotted screw[s] nut.....

'Tis the season I suppose !!

I personally don’t see the allure of the older ones. They are interesting historically and were certainly very cool for their time, but the newer ones are just so much nicer in almost all respects

I suppose, but on the other hand... the newer ones just to me seem like everything else that's out there - familiar bridges, nuts... while the old Sticks with their primative non intonating screw bridges and nuts, there's just something about them astectically that the newer ones just don't have, with the exception of the Railboards - those are 100% works of art and engineering brilliance !!

Of course, I realize the newer Sticks have endless tuning possibilities, which one would think would be a huge selling point with me - but I just feel that there's something to Emmett's original vision.

Besides, you would never see a pick-up like this on a more modern stick, and if anyone could tell me more about it I'd really appreciate it.

What i appreciate about the old sticks is, it looks like the pickup block is made of wood, as is the belt hook.
The newer sticks are much more functional obviously, and incorporate many patented designs that make them better, and accommodate for different string gauges, and tunings, pickups and midi.

For a practical stick, the newer ones are better for sure.
There's something to be said for the original concept, from a collectors point of view, and a player.
I tried to buy #4 but someone beat me to it. I would have loved to have that in my collection. Oh well.
I would love to hear it, if the person who bought it is on this site.
