Post Sticks galore
Just took all my Sticks out for a check.

From left to right:

Compressed Bamboo #5372 "the gig stick".

Laminated Bamboo #5716 "emergency gig stick" (in case "gig stick" goes wrong.

Graphite #2103G "the weapon" (that's how Jim Lampi christened it).

Iron Wood #566 "old faithful" (my first stick - made in 1979 - in its original (though refoamed) case.

Beautiful to see. What tuning?
I see you are a Block fan! I notice they all have a toggle switch for mono/stereo rather than a small slider switch (mine has the latter).

Baritone melody, classic bass tuning. Medium gauge melody strings, light bass strings.

Post Re: Sticks galore
Interesting fact. Compressed bamboo sounds slightly fuller and more consistent than laminated bamboo. Reminder: all these instrument are tuned in baritone melody and have an ACTV2 pickup, except "old faithful"). The graphite Stick has the fullest and most consistent sound. It's also heavier than the compressed bamboo Stick, which is heavier than the laminated bamboo instrument. You may say that the heavier the Stick, the fuller it sounds.

I have a 12-string bamboo #5657 ordered in '07 delivered '08. Shit I don't know if it's laminated or compressed. Different than the Ironwood fer sure since it's got rails an interchangable PASV and ACTV p.u.s. Love that ACTV p.u.. Interestingly though, I like my PASV... MORE...than I did when I didn't have the ACTV maybe because now I appreciate the differences. But I still am gonna build an outboard plug-in-to the-PASV dual tone control (passive), 'cause I like being able to "roll-off" the top end on the instrument as opposed to the amp. I was envious of 4 Sticks until I relized I still can't play 2...
