Setup of Railboard
Hi - are there any measurements for the set up of the railboard? I realise it has the double truss rod - but I am having a few issues getting it correct. I may loosen them both (to the null point where they have no effect) and leave it overnight and come back to it in the morning. But it would be nice to at least get the neck straight. I must say that I find the included information, a bit sparse (at least with what I have). Is there not a "standard" setup? Please correct me if I am wrong:
I am aiming for as straight a neck as possible.? Once achieved I need to remove buzz / too low at the headstock end by altering the nut height? Is there an Ideal Action Height for the strings from the first rail/fret? As a good starting point? If not, why not? (a sincere question). Perhaps a feeler-guage measurement? Should this spacing be the same for all frets down the neck? Truss rod: should the lower pull and the upper push?
Am finding it difficult to set up. Any step by steps very welcome. (have watched the Gregs video on truss rod adjustment. Cheers T.

Re: Setup of Railboard
On the Railboard, the nut's usually have to "push" on the rod, which means you go past the null point, spin all he way to the far end of the thread and then continue turning which, in effect, "lengthens" the rod.
You should not have to adjust the bridge or nut at all unless you change your tuning or string gauges.

Re: Setup of Railboard
Well I've messed a bit with my truss only to leave it in the same position it was at: both nuts pushing slightly (just enough so that they are not loose). 20 months with the railboard and still no need to adjust it: the damn instrument is just perfect! And Flat from top to bottom! How cool is that?
