Post Stickup Hum
My Stickup has developed a loud hum. It is greatly affected by the LED lights on dimmers that I have in my practice room. I can eliminate the hum by grabbing the shield of the plug/jack or any other connection to ground, like putting my hand on some rack gear.

It didn't do this until I fixed the case with superglue. See attached photos. I haven't changed the wiring or anything else inside.

Any ideas how I might trouble shoot and fix this?

Thanks!

I see that there are two white wires soldered together that are exposed.
Possible that those are touching something when plugged in?
Wrap with a little bit of electrical tape.

The other idea (may be the most plausible) is that the 1/4" jack is just worn out... It may not be making contact like it should be.
Best to replace.
In the short term you may be able to get in there and push the contacts out so that they push against the plug better. Be careful not to break the contacts... I'm sure SE can get a new jack to you.

Have you tried another cable?
That's another possibility.

I think that's all I have for ideas...

Post Re: Stickup Hum
In using superglue to fix the cracked case, I defeated the ground connection to the case of the stickup. Duh. I added a wire from the ground lug on the jack to one of the pot cases, thus reconnecting the case ground.

Thanks for the help!
