In the studio, indoor gig, or practice room, the Stick may be one of the most stable stringed instruments ever, with great intonation. But if you take it outside, it becomes much more vulnerable to neck shifting and going out of tune (as with any instrument of wood). I played outdoor festivals for 12 years in the direct Texas sun, and believe me, staying in tune was a battle. It wouldn't have been such a big deal if I were by myself, but I played with another Stickist. When two Sticks are out of tune with each other, it gets ugly in a hurry.
