Y'know, Boaz... I messed with this since I saw your post and I kind of like it. It's pretty neat, actually and sounds really good...

Actually ever since I saw how a good piano tuner will tune a piano, I've adapted that to the stick. The result sounds much better to the ear: particularly leaving the highest string higher than the relative 440. When you correct your tuning using octaves this will become quite obvious.

Good post! Yes, it is essential to tune by ear and matching whatever you intend to play as well as the string tension and string height intonation. I've learned this by praxis as a studio musician. Listen and tune *in place*.

Hendrix always amazed me in how in tune he played. And at the end of a song (live) he would play the guitar open and you could hear how out of tune it was. And was constantly tuning during the song. WITH A UNIVIBE GOING FULL-TILT.

I wish I could travel back in time and bring Hendrix a Floyd Rose locking system. Every time he went for the whammy bar, it was all over.

Paul Reed Smith installed special tuners on my Custom 24 guitar to help eliminate tuning issues. They remove the string wind up on the tuning peg. I like them very much, and want to install the same on my Stick.

I second that! My PRS 513 has the phase 3 tuners and they are insane!

I would love that on the stick!

Do you guys find that the Stick goes out of tune? Both the railboard and the Grand are pretty stable in my humble opinion... But, what do I know...?

Mine goes out of tune...yeah....especially in the northern climate I am in.

I attribute it to the humidity changes of winter
