lol Sure thing. Y'know, if I had kept my job before deciding to be a musician again, I could have just CAD this thing in Solidworks and waterjet cut this thing out of some 3/16 SS or maybe titanium hehehe But alas, I went and pursued my music stuff...

The truss rod? It is tight. I am VERY nervous that if I tighten it more I might damage it. On the bright side, the action is a lot lower, almost no bow, and it's way easier to play. I am thinking that the action was way too high before when I was doing mirrored 4ths, probably what was actually hurting my hand...

I'm gonna order new strings I think, although I DID just change 'em! hahaha

I broker mine many years ago. I deciced to buy a new one and new
strings...it broke again. Now I'm using a 11mm key and
it works well. Only a small problem. This key has no angle.
Impossible to adjust under the belt hook, only at the other
end of the truss rod.

All is very well. I ordered a new set of strings, and as well a new "Lap Dawg" from SE along with the wrench. Also, I talked Cambria's ear off for a bit asking about SG12's, NS/Sticks, Strings, and a bunch of other stuff... That lady is pretty darned knowledgable, I must say!

Cambria said there was a note with the wrench to send to me already, so wow! Talk about customer service. Cambria and Emmett, Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

So now I have the Grand in Mirrored 4ths, which is a bit nasty wth the current strings. I bet it's a lot nicer with the appropriate strings on there, and I have my Railboard in "Raised Matched Reciprocal" So I have my bases pretty much covered for what I want to do. Now I just need to add an SG12 for those high-up pointy notes and "Guitar-range" and I'm set.

Cool. So far, it's been a great day!

Ya bro, when I first put yer Stick on.....it was pretty apparent the neck was bowed out substantially and the string action wasn't even close to where it should be. It seemed to me it was more than 3mm from the board. It's safe to say one can get the string action down to 1.5mm give or take....
We got it to a point that was ok and could of gone lower but I felt a lot of resistance on the nut, so I didn't want to push it.

Folks, if yer Stick seems like a lot of work to play.....don't be afraid to fuss with the truss....

Cool that Emmett's gonna send you a new wrench...did he say double wrench....I can't remember...

Cheers,
Kev

Ps......For Steve Sink.....sighting yer Stick, I use Gregs method as well, but I also rest the heel of the Stick on my shoe, or the ground...doesn't matter.....and I look down along the length of the board.........as long as you have a good light source......
That board has to be straight, period.

There's a luthier supplier called Stewart Macdonald (stewmac) that's sells an abundance of guitar fixer upper stuff..... they sell a lovely straight edge.....although only 18 inches long.....you can use it to super tweak.

Cheers,
Sheer Luck Homz

Oh my god, all this time I've been lifting my Sticks up into the air (and the Railboard's heavy!) and sighting along them, when I could have just looked down. I have light sources. I'm embarrassed that I never thought of that! And straight is straight--easy enough. I don't need the straightedge. But I'd love to have one of them double-duty truss adjusters that are double thick! Or made of stainless steel or titanium. Maybe Scott can sneak back in and waterjet up a few hundred of them from some spare adamantium or whatever's laying around. Stick should sell the doublethick one, but I also get that they're supposed to break with too much force. But they break a little easy in my meat puppet hands.

And Kevin rocks for intuitive common sense about the Stick! This is like the fifth basic yet fundamental thing I've learned about Sticks from you Kevin, starting with "That's a shoulder strap, not a neck strap!" You rock, Kevin!
