Hi all,

I saw this modification and tried it, yet I still had the issue of having the instrument to close to my chest and belly.
I did an installation which requires the removal of belt hook and replacing by a piece I made + NS Boomerang (http://thinkns.com/accessory/the-boomer ... ap-system/)
It is true that it has the double inconvinience of having to remove belt hook and NS boomerang is a bit pricey.
Yet, it is working great and the comfort of playing is just perfect.

I created a topic few days ago : viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11854

One thing I didn't mention in, is that you can fold the boomerang so both arms of it are aligned to the stick so you can put it in the rig bag without having to remove all the system.

Ya Boaz, just use your existing shoulder strap, thread it through the new guitar strap, but tighten it up so the loop is really small,

cheers,
kev

Not that anyone really cares, but I didn't mess with the Stick at all. I want the option of being able to use the shoulder strap if I had to.

I literally used a strap end, and it's existing slot to put onto the Stick's strap "dial" or grommet. I then just made a couple of slightly oversized washers cut from a plastic margarine tin and turn the dial over it.

I am thinking I will get a custom strap made up, based on this prototype. I almost have a drawing done up for it, I think it could look a lot cooler, and I have a few refinements of my own I think...

That looks cool gonna get myself a strap and EXPERIMENT. (can't use the hand-painted leather guitar strap my girlfriend gave me on my birthday for the pawnshop Squier Strat...shit, the strap cost more than THE GUITAR!
edit: she painted the strap!!!

Get two straps, a needle and thread, some good velcro, and a bottle of patience. Also, make sure to listen to some Tool whilst you create this. Tool rocks!

Ok, strap alternative part two....
I made a strap, it works really really REALLY well...video below...

A few things I neglected to mention in the video....I'm still sticking the bottom end of the belt hook in my pants but my pants aren't bearing any weight, and the way I have positioned the grommet strap makes it look like the Stick is actually floating in front of me, like magic.

I did notice the Stick angle is turned in towards me though more than before so I'm going to order a non-angled belt hook and that should take care of that issue.

It's very robust, and I'm happy with the results. I don't think I'll ever go back to the shoulder harness now.
Perhaps Emmett or Michael Johnston will read this thread and can come up with a true in house solution for those of us that aren't partial to the standard shoulder strap system.

Emmetts strap system works superbly in terms of stability,,,,....the Stick is rock solid on your body when worn as designed.....but I never really dug the aesthetic.....hence, always looking for something new, be it the taggart stand or any other method to get that strap out of my armpit.

Cheers,
Strapless
