Locking Tuners?
I'm curious if the Stick or Railboard was ever available with locking tuners? My $3500 PRS guitar has a very unique system for this, and I like it. It's a simple screw that threads into the end of the tuner.

Re: Locking Tuners?
I'm sort of in the same boat, as far as tuning the Stick. The idea of locking tuners is to minimize string wind-up on the peg. With the PRS, I slip the string thru the peg hole and tighten the screw. Then, I clip off the string. The string can usually be tuned in less than one turn of the peg. It's a much cleaner, simpler system. Re: Locking Tuners?
I installed the planet-waves auto-trim(designed by NS) tuners on the 10 I had. Worked well, i only had to gently drill the insert hole for the largest string.
Nowadays I dont worry about locking tuners on any of my strings. Although, the Sperzels come in cool anodized colors that could go well with the Railboard finishes.

Re: Locking Tuners?
if you have a stick you can always pull what is on there and put Sperzels or what ever you'd like in.
I think it would be a great upgrade.
And I would love to see how it turns out and maybe repeat your sucess..

Re: Locking Tuners?
Most folks I meet that see the Stick say "that must be a bitch to tune"...... I guess from a non-musician standpoint, that may be a valid statement. But of course, we all know that a tuned Stick only goes out a few cents of a note day to day......and is quite easy to tune.
cheers, Major Payne

What are the dimensions of the shaft? The Planet Waves site link to the spec sheet isn't working. The stock Gotoh tuners are about 1&1/6" (29.4mm) above the headstock. I just tried out Gotoh a locking set but the shaft was too short.

Re: Locking Tuners?
You could always just ask SE what tuners they use and then cross those to locking tuners.

Re: Locking Tuners?
I always liked bass tuning pegs where the string inserts vertically and then winds around after a crimp. I guess that only works for thick strings.
