How do you amplify/practice Stick at Seminars?
I'm just curious what you guys all do with the Stick at events like Interlochen or Free Hands, or any of the other ones... Are there a whole ton of practice amps there, or do people just have personal ipad type rigs for doing their thing or what's up? I'm curious to see people's "portable practice rigs"... 'Cause it's not always practical to bring your Stick, and your pedalboard... and your amps, etc etc...

Those of us who can drive usually bring as many amps as possible. I bring a small amp and two powered speakers. There usually are plenty to go around at Interlochen, for example. If we all tell Glenn or the organizer what we need or what we're bringing they can coordinate. It looks like for next year's Interlochen there might be more folks flying in. This would be fantastic and we'll all make an effort to make sure everyone has a setup.

At FHA 2014, the name of the game was "bring headphone amps to class" and play through the rigs of the locals for open mic time.

do as all ampless teenagers do - lean the headstock up against the sheetrock of your bedroom
(caveat: bringing your own bedroom wall is, potentially, almost as cumbersome as bringing an amp)

Yeah, I'll just bring my iPad and an interface for the Stick, then I can headphone it. Who knows, maybe I'll find something better...

I used my iPad at the FHA, but I noticed a few cats using their zoom H4s, which is prolly a better interface. I have an H6 now, and it's pretty cool with the sideways mohawk (headphones)... Do you have a Zoom device Scott? Judging from yer gear pile.....you may have one lying around.
Cheers, K

Re: How do you amplify/practice Stick at Seminars?
At Stick Camp ," team Spain" who organised it rounded up quite a few guitar amps and similar. Some of the jams I recall had submixers for dealing with 4 or 5 people playing and there was a PA in one area. One bit of advice we all got was to acquire/make & take a stereo to mono guitar lead, though you may have a mono switch depending on which pickup your stick has.
Organisers should prepare for this and advise in advance in any case. Quite a few took portable practice rigs & headphones of which there are many possibilities .

Hey Scott , to whet your appetite , here's a couple of shots from Spain, Boaz giving the thumbs up. Lots of different rigs in place , all adequate, the music and the people were the key. Around the dining room table late at night included such legends as, Guillermo Cides ( Spain) , Youenn Landreau ( France ) & Atreio ( Italy ) , among others. Cant begin to tell you how good this was.
