there are many different ways to go there...

You know what's cool, is that the Stick really accommodates the player in that respect.

Have a horrible industrial accident and hurt your finger? No sweat. The Stick is there for you. You can more than "get by" with less than all 4. Wanna use all 4 fingers plus your thumbs? The Stick is okay with that, also. Keep on playing and you will arrive at an approach that makes sense; The Stick will let you know what works and what doesn't. I think there are probably a lot of factors that will determine what the best approach is for you.

Greg played a pretty crazy classical bit using only two fingers on the bass side. Sounded great... Steve A uses all 4 fingers and his thumbs, and sounds great. You could probably only use 1 finger per hand and still sound pretty good (imagination is the key) King Yngwie doesn't always use his pinky, but then again he's Swedish...

Of course, I am nobody and my opinion means squat, lol Now I gotta go work on some Pantera...
