Post So I found this in a thrift store....a Patch of Shades
Hi everyone,

I hadn't heard of the Chapman Stick until yesterday when I found this forum. I don't play guitar, I like synths. I do work in the music tech area though (modular synths) and I like all sorts of electronic instruments and music (and from what I've learned the Stick is totally awesome btw!).

Anyway, the actual reason I found my way here is that I bought what I thought looked like a very interesting guitar pedal thing in a thrift store here in Montreal for $12.50 CAD. Doing some research and looking at some of the posts here about it it seems this is QUITE A STEAL if it works and possibly the thrift store find of the decade! I haven't been able to test it yet - it has a broken fuse - and I haven't opened it up.

Maybe I've got it all wrong and you're all going to laugh at me but I figured you're the people to ask - is it the real deal?

These two not very good photos of it I took while I was actually in the store marveling at the price. I didn't know what it was at that point but I did guess it was a fairly old analog pedal and I already thought it must be an amazing bargain.

Holy moly! That looks like the real deal to me. I've always wanted to mess with one of those.

I hope someone who knows more will pipe in here soon. But I think only 100 of those were made (by hand) in the first run. And maybe there was a second limited run, but I forget. What's the serial number? Someone could tell you by that.

I'm in Canada...talk to me when you start selling...

Not to get into a bidding war, but I've got $28 in my pocket, plus a few tooth flossers I'll throw in to sweeten the deal. They've only been used a couple times, still have lots of life left in them.

@john.e - yeah, that's the thread I saw and I got v excited haha!

@baggetthouse - I'll check the serial number when I get home. I guess it's on the inside somewhere. I couldn't see anything like a serial number on the outside but maybe I missed it.

Holy Shit!

Count one more in on that bidding war. I'd love to get my hands on one and see how it works.
