Post Replacing dampener
It seems this topic doesn't exist, so:

I assume my bamboo 12 strings Stick has a good setup.

After eight years, dampener is not perfectly dampening one or two strings, so I think to replace it.

Does anybody already did it?
Any advice about do and don't?

Common velcro or...?

Cheers.

Nicola

Hi Nicola
On my old 10 string standard I just used a piece of felt material I got at a Craft store. Its about 1/8 inch thick and slides firmly under the strings . I just cut it to size. Works fine and you can choose any color you want!
Hope you are well, see you at the Next StickCamp, whenever that is!

Make sure the board is straight before doing anything else. Too much relief could cause the damper to disengage the smaller strings.

one of the best materials is this "rubbery net" like material that is sold at home ware or hard wear stores to line kitchen drawers. Trey turned me on to this and it really works great.

Thanks all for answers, Andy my Stick has original setup (never tweaked) apart from truss rod setting, I will anyway keep your suggestion.

I switched to new string and dampening sound good.

Let's see...

Any advice about original velcro?
