Post Re-inventing my technique
as some of the long time contributors might know.. i used to be here a lot .. but then about 4 yrs ago i just stopped coming in here. i still kept my stick .. i kept looking at it from time to time. I was Immersed with another Tapping Instrument.. the Marcodi Harpejji ( i own a G16). so then late summer hit.. and i discovered my Stickup Pickup was cutting in and out.. The amazing Greg Howard offered to send me one of his spare pickups to help my recording. But Emmett helped me diagnose my problem .. Now for the past few weeks i can't seem to Put the stick down. I have moved onto the Baritone Melody Tuning .. i am loving it.. and revisiting a bunch of the videos and stick books i have. I am giving more love to the stick... and yet still loving the Harpejji . i want to make them both work together and be a great pairing of sorts. I am curious out there.. does anyone have any techniques they would like to share to this guy who disappeared.. Mainly for the Baritone Melody techniques

Post Re: Re-inventing my technique
I played the G24 at Steve Osburn's Oz's Music here in Ann Arbor Michigan.
I have to say I loved the heck out of it (I'm a keyboard player before Stick). Every fret was marked with the piano letters and black and white keys. I think it runs like 10 grand or something ridiculous, so I don't see me ever buying one, but as long as Steve lets me on his occasionally, I'm good. Here's him playing both a harpeji and a Stick.

Best of luck coming back to the Stick! No one says you can't do both (and more)!

Cheers!

Good grief no, not that much, Oz would go in the poorhouse buying up inventory like that :)

Still pricey, but not near the five digit mark. I stay away from that instrument, too painful for me to play. No matter how hard I tried, I could never find a comfortable playing position with it. No worries, it's not like I need to learn another instrument :)

You should come up to Oz's Stick gathering some time, typically every third Thursday of the month. Or send me a PM with your e-mail addy and I can copy you if anything else happens. Usually Bob C is up here every year for the A2 Art festival, another time Tom G stopped in. Oz usually has me send out e-mails to our regular Stick players that attend. Bring your Harpejji, I'm sure Oz would like to meet an experienced player.

Also - I'm still using EZ Drummer per your recommendation. Added a few modules to it since.

Just for clarification (lovely website at marcodi.com): Harpeji prices run for the U12 (12 string) $2,299, G16 $3499 and K24 $4999. I had the prices double in my head. I played the K24. Takes about 120 days. Still too pricey for me, but if I ever found a cheap used one, I'd snap one up. Love to see you at Oz's, Gnat.

Thanks, Darren, I like to call people by their names, unless they prefer not to share, in which I'm down with you, Mr. Sparkle Winky-Pants, or whatever. I put a lot of crap into my sig block, just to convey a heck of a lot of info if someone cares to look, like my name and production company, my flavors of Sticks, and a link to my stuff. It's a very handy tool that literally follows me around on every posting (and even updates on back postings when I update my sig block).

Call me Steve, Darren! Howdy! I want to maximize the confusion by literally having every other person around here some version of "Steve." LOL! Random side note: my friends call my style of music "SteveMusic," and I have to laugh now that I personally know about 5 Steves that all play Stick (and I'm sure there are many more!).

Steve-ly
