I was playing MR for quite a while, and decided to go Classic… tuned the melody side up with no problems at all and the tension feels great…. I have medium gauge.

Did you just use the same strings Randy? Or did you replace them?

In the meantime, you should post some pictures of your new instrument for everyone to see!

I have put one picture into the Gallery section -- it's the most recent one labelled "Grand Stick 1496 at home" but I forgot to rotate it so it's resting. Once my good camera charges (just moved house, charger misplaced) I'll try and get some beauty shots.

That's cool. Have your tried the recommended strings yet? I think you'll like them much better..

I was in MR, using MR set, then tune to Classic using those strings, and now tuned back to MR. I like the space between the hands and I like the timbre of the strings.

CORRECTION! after speaking with Greg this morning, I realized that I had tuned from Classic to MR, NOT the other way around. So if you have MR on your stick, DO NOT try to go to CLassic… Bad things will ensue!!

After a week or so trying it all out, I think I'm happy to stay in MR for now.

Thanks for everyone's comments and help. I'm just starting in on my first practice piece...
