Post Free download - Understanding Diatonic Modes, Part 1
Hi everyone,

I've been working on this article for a while and finally decided the best way to finish it was to post part one now and then part tow with an accompanying video later on.

It reflect concepts presented in The Stick Book, but using graphics instead of notation. Hopefully it will provide some clarity for you.

You can download or view it for free at this location for now under FREE LESSON DOWNLOADS:

http://www.greghoward.com/free_hands/

I'll be organizing a page for all my lesson articles in the near future.

As always, I'm grateful for any feedback that could make the article more helpful.

I look forward to your comments, gents.

The lesson is not "100% friendly" with the Classic 10-string or MR 10 tunings, but the meat of it still works, especially page 2. For MR 12, just add two frets.

Once I'm sure the concepts are helpful I will translate whatever needs translating in another version.

Awesome, Greg, thanks so much. I really appreciate the time you put into all of this stuff.... Bravo!I have REALLY been working the modes in the exercises in the Stick Book. They have really opened up my right hand and anchoring in the right hand muscle/somatic memory.

Thanks for this, Greg. This looks to be a great refresher/lead-in for me as I prepare to dive in with my first Stick, which arrives next week! Plus, I have not studied modes in quite some time.

Looking forward to starting up next week - that's for sure!! :D

Chris

Just Checking in, Chris. What tuning did you get on your Stick?
