Re: What do you practice in a day?
Got all 4 of those; I'm a drummer also. Benny Greb's "Language of Drumming" video is REALLY interesting stuff, and so's the "New Breed" Berklee Series. Killer stuff.
Benny's language of Drumming is sick stuff, seriously.
All in good time, I needed something basic, very basic to sink my teeth into. The eartraining books are a logical fit for me, along with the stick books and the DVD's and stuff, because it's stuff I spent a long time slaving over, and internalizing.
Second time around shouldn't be so bad! hahaha

Well, I can tap my foot while playing pretty comfortably with either foot, so it's really niether hère or there. However I guess I could always follow the instructions, haha

I'm just looking to the F & G position form Free Hands.
Practicing in as many keys as I can has become a goal and I just want that freedom to know where the range is and where I might come un-Stuck. ...un-Stick?

Re: What do you practice in a day?
HI Jaye.
I'm gonna practice/learn the bass lines to Shine on you Crazy Diamond today, just by playing along with the cd and keeping my ears open. I used to learn a lot of stuff that way on drums, it seems my ears are good enough that I should have a lot of fun and get into the parts more quickly.

Re: What do you practice in a day?
Ohh, shine on you crazy diamonds would be fun on the stick. I used to play that a loong time ago (1-4) Pretty easy, i had the original tab book like in early 90's I may have to put that one on my list. I have thought about Wish you were here also. Might sound cool
Anyways, i have been playing alto for 1 1/2 yrs now. Dio alot of stickbook scales, bass chord progressions with easy melody. Spend alot of time just messing around. I dont have formal music theory and have never had music lessons Had 2 lessons with Mr. howard though.
So it took me along time just to grasp the concepts and basics on a simple level. Still workin on that. Then moved to a real easy song. Star of the county down. Then moved on to something alot harder. A rendition of greensleeves based on Matt Rogers Heartstrings version. That took awhile. Then Scarbourogh fair. Now i am working on Anu by Matt. Not sure after that. Trying to get to the point of video recording them. I can play them prety good but it seems i fall apart when the camera is on lol
But by watching you on youtube.... Man can you play the axe. I was a bit blown away by the chops dude. You may be overthinking this a bit. Your stick vids are full really really good.
You will be just fine
Cheers
