Post Running Motor
I've been having a lot of fun playing my stick. Some of you have commented that you have a hard time keeping a running motor. I've found the exact opposite to be true. I just keeping my finger in beat, much like tapping your foot to keep time. What I struggle with is using more than one finger for more complex bass lines. How do you guys do it?

Do ya mean like a 3 note bass pattern motor, like root, fifth, octave. Where you are manually looping a kind of arpeggio up and down?

Using more than one finger for bass lines is WAY easier to me, unless I am understanding you wrong. Are you sliding around with your first finger or what?

If you could clarify a bit then we can help ya. Left hand motors are a big part of my style. In regards to the motor tempos, I have a tendancy to speed up a bit or not hit each note with equal volume.

Any new vids or tracks? Glad you are having fun  .

I just use my first finger on my bass hand to hammer out quarter/eighth/half/ect root notes. My melody hand moves all over.

I'd really like to do some arpeggios and such. To jazz up the bass side.

As a first step you could start by getting used to alternating two different fingers, say alternating between root and octave, rather than just tapping one note with one finger, building yourself up to feeling more comfortable with arpeggios.

I think you might be further along if you had not massacred your instrument.

Frank,

I don't understand why you are always such an asshole. I'm not sure I have ever heard you say anything productive to anyone.

I changed the tuning on the melody side. That is the side I have zero problems on. In fact I can play think polychords with just one finger now with complicated bass lines.

What I can't do is play that lute flavored crap you play. I'm starting to wonder why i would ever want to sound like you.

I think you have me confused with someone else,I just think you are missing out by not using a traditional Stick tuning to learn on. I don't have any Stick music posted anywhere so you have no idea what I sound like. Peace man.
