Two handed bass/pulloffs
Okay, so in my quest my harmonic strangness I've come across a slightly evil spell casting device for the bass side on Stick. It involves a pattern that at first may sound like a gimmick or trick but I think it has potential. Its basically a left hand tap with a right hand tap/pullof in the same shape and on the same strings. Umm, nevermind I can't explain it. Vids are coming... Anyway its a psuedo death metal concept. I casually named it the cannibal corpse technique. Even though its not like I discovered it, its just a subdivision of a technique of tapping and pullofs. But its interesting the way the augmented/diminished patterns sound with it. It sounds pretty evil.
Okay, so here is a super rough demo of the technique I'm talking about. I think once I get better at this and mix it in with other techniques it will be pretty cool.

The cannibal corpse technique... Don't misread me, I love this band as 90% the bands you use to listen I guess (saw them two years ago), but this name applied to that technique me laugh out loud! I'll give it a try.

First, you put your video up on YouTube. Then get the link to it from the URL at the top of the screen, not the embedded stuff. Then here on stickist, in a post editing window, click on the rectangle button named "YouTube" above the editing box. Then paste the link to your video inside the code like this: Code: Then, for RSS readers, hit the Return key a few times and click on the "URL" button above. Paste the link to your video here, too. Code: --Paste Here, Too-- -Eric

Re: Two handed bass/pulloffs
Thanks for the help. So I guess we just need to upload to myspace or youtube first. I think this new video feature is great. I like it alot more than posting links.

Re: Two handed bass/pulloffs
So I think I played each pattern acending in the demo. It works amazingly descending too, starting with the right hand instead. I just kinda realized how to switch up the pattern of notes as well. Its much easier to play either acending or decending pullofs than to play with big interval jumps. It would be good to work on this technique with alot of string skipping. I noticed that I usually go in a row of 3 strings and focus on that. But I shall try to expand it. It works well on the melody strings too, however for solo play I currently like the bass side. Maybe if I could somehow hold down a simple bass part and overlayed this style on the melody side It would be cool though.

Did anyone notice, the Stick parts are edited backwards? Great job Jason. Wasn't that part of our third lesson "playing the dyslexic mode"?
