Post Chapman Stick Tuning video (applied on a non-Stick)

Said Too Much Productions' take in the Chapman Stick tuning.

Takes a 10-string guitar and tunes it the Chapman Stick method. He goes in pretty good detail about the Stick tuning and what he thinks about it.

My bottom line is that: just get a STICK!!!! He says several times, that the Stick probably does what he's trying to do better. But I like that! It's a pretty good advertisement for the original. And a nice plug for the Alto Stick at the end.

Just thought I'd share. The comments on this one at YouTube are interesting as well.

Think he actually is using an 8 string guitar.
This thought has crossed my mind plenty of times since I'm a sucker for extended range guitars - it's cool to see someone actually give it a go! Honestly did not seem that successful ... makes me appreciate my Railboard that much more :D

Oh, you're so right--that is an 8-string that he's trying to make work. He was doomed to fail from the start. Although Emmett does make 8-string tapping Sticks as well, and of course, the NS/Sticks. When he started talking about cutting off the arms of the guitar, I just cringed. Get a Stick, man!

And speaking of Railboards, I was watching videos on guitars made from non-traditional materials, and they got excited about a guy's prototype that he made out of aluminium. I thought, "Pshaw, Emmett got there a while back and he's coating them with bling now, too!" but then they made a guitar out of colored pencils glued together, and that just proved the point that they saw the aluminium guitar as a novelty. Sounds sweet, yo! The woods do too of course.

He seems to enjoy modifying instruments, along with string changes, chopping them up. Let him have fun, he may come over to our side eventually. Or not. I could see him building a two-neck thing.
