Just finished my first year of jazz tapping guitar class at the local uni. Well, sort of.
The 2-year jazz improv sequence is open to all instruments, so I brought an 8-string tapper and received some excellent instruction (and encouragement.) Will probably return to finish via computer.

Mad Monk.

Very cool! That sounds awesome, man!

I'm finally getting around to something I intended to do 16 years ago when focusing on Grand Stick - baroque keyboard music. I love the Scarlatti sonatas so am trying K380 - not insanely difficult but still a slow process. It's primarily based on the original keyboard score but I'm playing it more in the classical guitar + bass range (an octave lower). Hope to share the complete, more polished version in the not too distant future./

ooooo You know I am a big Rob Martino music fan, right? I love your stuff man. Can't wait to hear this!

My first Stick , a 10 string from 1991, arrived yesterday so just getting to grips with everything! 30 years of bass guitar so understand it, just a matter of getting on with the physical aspects.

Culbertsons lessons on the stick volume 2.
Yesterday from the Free Hands book.
Lesson 13 Free hands.
Still have to work on the previous lessons,but...
Trying to learn the basics, then add, or subtract from what i learn, as I learn.. ie fingers, barres, hammers, pulls, etc. finding the notes on the fretboard, and what fingers to use to get them, in order to make a complete sentence.
Someday i will play a song. I hope.
I am not a musician so I do not practice, or play 8 hours a day.
Right now I am just a noodle head . who enjoys playing.

What notes am I playing? where are they on the fretboard, what shapes can I use, what notes do i have to play, but what notes do my hands, and or the stick want to play? basic shapes, and rudiments are necessary, duh. When i have a grasp of finger, and hand movement, then expression comes naturally. .
Try to understand that.

Just play, think a little, play a lot.
GoStIcK.

I'm in a similar spot. I'm embracing my newbiness and working on what's within my capabilities. I'm not trying to work on hand independence anymore... Just using Yousician to help me learn to play bass parts right now, using 2 handed tapping to get it done on my sg12 an octave too high. I'm focusing on accuracy and quality of my playing. I've almost got the bass of "How you look tonight" down and will make a video of it when I feel good about it. I'll bring back my learning journal.

I'm going to make something to help me transpose music so I can take on the piano lessons they have, too.

I'm working on the next Gregorian Rock album. Lots of stick bass. For whatever reason, I find many of the parts I come up with are easier to play on the bass side, than the high side. Nine tunes written, going to write one more. Jerry Marotta provides killer drums on two songs, Tony Levin does what he does on four more. Planning a crowdfunding to start in about a month. Very excited!

If you haven't heard any of my music, here is a sample: https://gregorianrock.com/video

dcben: Oh yeah I remember this! Funny thing, when I pick up a bass I play bass lines and when I pick up the Stick my playing changes. In other words Stick Bass Lines. Truely an inspirational Instrument. Looking forward

I started playing my Grand (In M4) pretty regularly again and this is something I do pretty regularly - It's a lot of fun to put on a tune and just thump along with tapped baseline!

Re-wrapping my brain around M4 again. Just about have Rob's "One Cloud" down again...
