Re: Loose interpretation of Free Hands
Those are "get outta jail free" hands.
Just kidding of course, but where's the musical mind? I guess I forgot to mention that in my "Free Hands" book. There are many elements to music and gymnastics is surely one of them, but there's got to be more to it than that.
ReyStick, your hands are alive and with a mind of their own. Still, I think we need some mindful musical meditation for some sonic soul satisfaction.

You might want to try some vocals, to enhance your wonderful tune?

Re: Loose interpretation of Free Hands
Hey Rey, I love your fearlessness - it looks and sounds like " I made something up, gonna document it and share it..." And for sure there's a lot of umm, non-user friendly ideas in there - looks and sounds like the fingers are just sort of going to town - a "hoping for the best" kind of thing. There's definitely a solid idea or two in there also, but you really made us wait for them hahaha I think you are really creative, but it's pretty free form and random for my tastes. My ear needs it to be developed and refined more, even though my own stuff is usually almost always in sketch/rough draft form... Like Emmett - I too would like to hear something that has a meter to it, and a defined melodic structure of some sort. I get that studying this instrument can be a bit frustrating at times, but honestly maybe take a more simplified approach and see if you can't eek out something a bit more solid. Miles Davis didn't have the shredding chops that Coltrane and Charlie Parker did, but his musical impact transcended blazing virtuosity, and really defined several forms of jazz. I guess what I'm saying is that music doesn't have to be complicated to be good. Okay - good luck! Looking forward to what comes next!

Re: Loose interpretation of Free Hands
Lighten up guys. It was just a goof, one off thing. I normally don't practice like that. I thought it was fun to tangle up my fingers, it was more for visual effect, and what kind of noise can I make.
I understand it doesn't need to be complicated j. I was giving my focus a break. When I am playing, I'm always thinking, and repeating the same thing over and over, because the patterns are not ingrained in my brain. I still haven't gotten the few things i do right yet, maybe because I overcomplicate them. I thought it would be nice to just let go, I didn't mean to offend anybody with my noise, although after scratching and slapping, I will be trying to use some of those techniques while grabbing chords and scales, and maybe making some more pleasing noise.
Thanks for taking the time out to listen, or watch. I appreciate the feedback, but not everything is meant to be taken so seriously.
I'm an amateur by all means. Sometimes you just gotta have fun. For me it was fun.
I wish everybody a Merry Christmas Happy New year happy holidays and all the other ones. May you all have good end-of-year holiday celebrations...[emoji854][emoji846]
