A little more setup here might be in order. Where are you looking when you are playing? Your right hand, your left hand OR somewhere in between. More experienced players are able to move to the center more easily, balancing what they are doing and what they are looking at.

Also, check the part of where they are looking when they are reading sheet music for the first time. An excellent exercise in eye tracking.
