Just an update here so I can listen to myself talk :)

I've learned not to get too optimistic after many setbacks but over the last week I've managed to string together more comfortable days in a row than I have in almost a year. I started to play piano again about a week ago and have put in a couple of short sessions everyday without paying for it. The big test will be fretboard instruments. Maybe this week.

I was actually starting to get used to the idea of watching this summer's Interlochen workshop as a spectator but am now feeling like daylight is creeping back in.
Glad to hear you're making progress, Glenn. I'm looking forward to my first Interlochen, and getting up North and learning some things and meeting some people. If you can play, awesome! If you can't, still awesome! It will still be nice to see and hear you and learn from you, and break bread, and pick your brain a bit, and hopefully you'll be able to rock some workshopping as well, and mix it up a bit in the after hour events and shows. I hope things continue to improve for you! If I don't see you before then, see you at Interlochen!

[quote="gpoorman"]Generally anything that requires pinching a fretboard has aggravated it. I was dabbling more on keys for a while but have generally not played much since July of last summer.
Mebe playing the Stick on yer lap like Trey Gunn has resorted to...

I'm sorry to hear this.
I have struggled with Cubital Tunnel Syndrome a lot (like Carpal Tunnel but the lower half of the hand goes numb instead of the thumb and first 3 fingers). I found making sure my arm is straight when I go to bed was a great way of letting the swelling go down and allow the muscles, and nerves be in the most simple resting state.
A trapped nerve is worse but hopefully this approach might help
