Saw this thanks to a friend of mine, found this visualization interesting. Here’s the article.

Thanks for posting this, Claire, that's really neat! Not only for the sake of highlighting the bass line, but for the silly grin it put on my face... :D

How cool to follow how the bass moves through the harmonies! BTW, I heard James Jamerson never cleaned or changed the strings on his bass. I think this kind of visuals is a good way to imagine the music you are playing, especially if you want to add some improvisational flavour but keep a steady pop groove.

A real moving bass line...cool stuff. I'd like to see the "normal" written line on an F key...

There's a transcription here. It's a fun bass line.

There's something about the visual that offers a different perspective from reading music. Seems like it should be fairly simple to play along, maybe with a few reference points. I guess it might be more like the music video games then, but I never got used to the notes coming towards you, rather than across in those games. This visualization makes more sense to me.

This one is similar but for piano music. I like how you can clearly see the different voices within the piece and the shape of the different parts.

I was going to mention this one for Debussy but you already put it.

that's really interesting.
it's funny - watching that I realized that is pretty much how I see music (especially bass lines) in my head...and there it was being seen by me eyes!
Very cool
And the piano one is even better...need to check out that article

I think no good recording studio would ever allow this.

It depends on what bass sound is "in fashion". Back then, brand new zingy sounding strings were not the sound people wanted on a bass.
