Post My Teflon music
Hey all,

I wanted to share the piano-cello suite project I started about 6 months ago. “The ‘Mist’ Suite in A Minor for Piano and Cello” is my original work and will include several ‘movements’ that make up the whole suite. The idea of the ‘Mist Suite’ is to musically depict aspects of the well know phenomenon of small droplets suspended in air; therefore, all of the movements of the suite are in fact a serenade to the beauty of the mist.

The first movement of the suite is finally finished and in the last month I have been busy with the recording of the audio as well as the video of this piece. The end product of a very arduous process is this music video that I’m sharing right now. More experienced musicians will realize that the cello isn’t my primary instrument – in fact I picked up the cello about 3 months ago and tried to learn it by myself just to record this. I would be more than happy to collaborate with actual cellists in the forthcoming movements of this suite.

I hope you’ll enjoy it

Akin,
That's a nice piece.
I listened to the whole Piece and thought the video enhanced the music quite well.

Akin,
I hardly think a “trained” cellist could add more feeling to the piece,
especially the introduction which has an almost Indian/Turkish
feeling. But Michael is right and perhaps this crew is biased;
if the scene where the keyboard hammers are hitting the strings
there was a close up of fingers hitting Stick strings... 8-)

I am not criticizing though I am amazed, the thought, organization, and
care all come through.

The real magic though is in those first notes
that's where the spell is cast.

Thank you for your great work.

JRJ

Thanks guys :)

I tried playing the piano part on a stick; it doesn't ring right - though I'll come up with an original tune on the stick soon!

I thought the intro cello part sounded more like celtic - that was the intention anyway. I am also considering covering a nice and 'tappy' Turkish folk song on the stick; let's see how that one goes :)

Very nice music...

After 41 years on guitar I decided to start to learn cello in October 2009...what a nice instrument. I felt in love with it...so much that I bought an electric one...I have both...acoustic and electric.

And on top of this I decided to buy a Chapman Stick...I'll get it in August. It's already in Canada but I don't live there anymore. I'll pick it up in August.

To talk a little bit more about your music...we can feel the soul...great music. Love it...

REALLY enjoyed the piece. Composing is hard when you just have to think of ONE part.

I can defiantly here the celtic sound you were looking for. It reminds me of a old cartoon I watched as a kid. "Flight of Dragons" see youtube vid
