Hmmm ... I think I mentioned this on another thread but I will learn to play the Theremin at some point.

And although it's not a wierd instrument, I would really love to take a crack at the cello some day.

I'm quite fascinated with harp guitars (with both the bass and higher treble strings), here's John Doan:

Here's the most elaborate one I've ever seen:

Same here, someone here posted a Michael Hedges video about a year ago. I had never realized what kind of guitar he was producing bass notes with. I did some searches online, and found John Doan also. Seems the ones similar to what Hedges and Doan play come with a pretty hefty 5-digit price tag.

Something strange and unusual I did buy is a Roland Handsonic electronic hand-drum. I bought the larger one that is not stocked in stores. I got the hi-hat and kick-drum pedals for it, now I have a new respect for drummers. Works far better than a drum machine, and it is a real instrument that can be played live in real time. Learning left and right hand independance is now coupled with left and right foot independance. It has MIDI capability so I can access NI Battery in my computer with it.

Sorry the videos are not top quality.

These guys are musicians / comedians and they do shows where they use what they call 'informal instruments' some of them are really funny!

Cheers, Daniel
