i didn't realize the touch guitars were that expensive. not convinced of the value there. i would just wait till i found a used stick

My understanding is the higher end Krappies are actually quite good, while the lower end stuff is well, crappy.... but on the other hand, depending on what you are looking to do - THAT may be what you are after, and please don't take the the wrong way.
Coming from the 1980s NYC downtown Art/Noise/Music scene, to me there is no such thing as a bad instrument, they are all good, and they all exist for a purpose.
I never really gave the Krappies any serious thought, but you know what, I'm going to check out their website just for the hell of it and see what they have to offer.
Think it's run by a guy named Kevin if I recall correctly.
To sum up: Get whatever makes you happy, which may be a Krappy.

Hi folks
I found a used Krappy for a good price, and it was a lovely instrument to start out on. It's not as good as a Stick though. The Stick's decades of development show, and I personally prefer the asethetic and ergonomics.
If it's an "either/or," wait and save up for the Stick. I waited a couple of years but eventually found a used one cheap (before Emmett passed away and pandemic supply chain issues slowed down delivery, which has jacked up used Stick costs as well).
If you're anxious to get started (and can afford it), you could always start on a Krappy and move to the Stick once once becomes available. I sold my Krappy for near what I paid for it.
I believe that Kenn is now happy with his returned U8, but he's had a frustrating time over the last few months to reach that point.
Interesting to consider. Unfortunately, it seems as though Touch Guitars are the only ones still in the business for touchstyle guitars that have bodies. In regards to bodies, I've considered the NS/Stick but concerns are 8 instead of 10 strings and, once again, price.
