Human performance, that's what it's all about. Marcin Patrzalek (can't even pronounce it) puts his heart and soul into it, body too, and backed by dedication and discipline. Love the variety of his percussion techniques on the guitar body, using his long fingernails for the clicks and claps.

The tapping technique is there, and lightning fast, then he speeds it up. Thanks GC, for the find.

He's very good. When I see a performance like this one I always wonder about some small things. For example...

- How is it possible to have a so beautiful tone on an acoustic guitar? And lound enough like we can hear?

- How is it possible to play this way with his right hand and still have good nails? If I try it I don't keep my nails for more than one minute...lol. He plays with steel strings...not nylon.

So...if someone can explain...apart of that it's a very nice way to play guitar.

Regarding your questions.

1. To tap on an acoustic guitar you have to be plugged in. Period. If you really hammer you can kind of make it work otherwise but the folks you see doing a lot of tapping have lower action, tend to play softer (and turn up louder), and they're always plugged in.

2. I don't know about this guy but there are a lot of players going sans nails. Since I like to play piano, Stick, and fingerstyle guitar, I keep my nails clipped all the time. Turns out a lot of players do as well. Andy Mckee keeps his nails clipped. So does Laurence Juber.

Many tapping videos people post rely way too much on the technique, and not enough care is put into the actual sound.

I have this on one of my guitars. I also have a hidden piezo pickup installed under the saddle.
