Wow, I haven't seen that for a long time... I have to admit that video once scared me away from the instrument/company :-) Here's another old video where the good sides of the Megatar are allowed to shine:

wow... I realize this is an old thread, but Jan is using a real interesting tuning there.

So, I came across this thread as I was doing some Googling regarding the end of the Tappistry Forum for, what I believe is at least the 2nd time and I'm kinda sad about that, because I felt that the Megatar was certainly interesting enough to deserve a forum of it's own, but I'm obviously in the minority with that thought.

Either way, this is such a pretty song regardless of the instrument being used, and I have since became a great admirer of Jan's music.

Jan is a fantastic musician no matter what he puts his hands on. He's got a ton of really killer guitar videos, Stick, harp guitar, uke ... you name it. He's just a naturally musical guy.

The instrument itself might have managed to garner some more success and attention if it hadn't been for the fact that it's originator was a known douche bag. That was hard to overcome and in spite of his best efforts, the second owner wasn't able to overcome that.

C'est la vie!
