I always enjoy listening and watching how other players set up their Zendrums. The possibilities are endless, everbody does it differently. I've changed my own set up at least a half dozen times, it gets closer to what I want every time.

Jeremy, that track is really nice, I love the sounds you've managed to incorporate. I used my zendrum for a regular drum setup, with assorted percussion instruments also in the mix. You have a marvelous talent on many instruments as we have seen. Keep up the great work, it's truly amazing stuff!

OK, as promised, and after pocketing Paigan0's virtual twenty in my cyberspace tip jar , here are a few videos of me playing Zendrum exclusively in the "Fuzzy Side Band" from 2007-2010. Audio and video are not great, these were taken by my wife who was not a trained videographer lol! She is much better now, getting plenty of experience with her phone and my grandkids!

I'll add a couple more if I can find something halfway decent. Also, since then I have gone through 2 setup changes and using a much better software for MIDI (BFD3 through a Macbook Pro). Alas, my time for the past 15 months has been devoted to the Stick, so my zendrum has been somewhat neglected.. not enough time in the day... or night!

OK Steve, I think you got your twenty bucks worth! Here's one more I found that's not too bad. I had a lot of fun honing my skills on the Zendrum with this lineup. I started in 2010 with another band, and at first I used the zendrum, but with percussion the nature of the band changed, so I ended up with a set of custom electronic drums, then moved to a full acoustic kit, as well as a cocktail kit. I would love to get into another band with just the zendrum at some future point, but as I mentioned, I am really focused on becoming a Stickist, and that's where the bulk of my efforts lie right now.

I hope you enjoyed this little trip down memory lane as much as I did! There are musicians using the zendrum for far more exotic applications... everything from piano, strings and horns, to middle eastern and asian music. They are far more skilled than I. My use has been strictly for rock & roll!

It's really even more versatile than a "real" drumset. You've now firmly activated my GAS gear-ache for one.

Lots of great videos and posts here! I appreciate all the kind words from familiar faces in the Stick and Zendrum communities. I have not dared to take the Zendrum out for any live playing yet. As Stick players I think we are genetically programmed to seek out innovative instruments.
