I'm pretty sure all of the instruments listed so far were built by people who started out on The Stick. Take that for what it's worth. It's not something to be afraid of...

Started out with The Stick, but wanted something different. It's clearly NOT a Stick copy at all, though many of the instruments listed so far are more directly based on Emmett's concepts, some were even marketed with his tunings from the get-go...

The Kelstone began life as a horizontal Stick, for example.

Stuart Box did not start out on the Stick.

I'm not up on the TrebleBass history.
