DBro with a young Stickist!
I think I just recruited the youngest Stickist into our hallowed halls at Stickdom!
I was playing last night at my steady regular gig at Cafe iO when one of my fans brought over his grandhild Owen.
Owen was thrilled at my right hand doing 128th notes! and once I taught him how to plunk and tap, he loved making the big bass sound, but was a bigger fan of the Squonk!
As I was leaving I had him repeat after me "www.stick.com" that's it "www.stick.com" "Grandpa I want an Alto!"
It was a lot of fun, and a great crowd with a lot of applesauce.... applause and nice to see people running up saying "Yes, that was Journey" or yelling out the artists.
Yes, that's my book I always talk about. Keeps getting bigger each week now that I have a luxury of well over a 3 hour show ( my 6-9 no breaks. ) I can add my "bucket list" of tunes.
Recent ones were "Head over Heels" by Tears for Fears and inspired by Oliver, "Perfect Day" by Lou Reed.
You can do this. and if you do have a minor who shows an interest,
have an adult present! preferably a packed room!
take care,
Dave Brosky "DBro"
