Thanks Greg. A family member of mine recently passed away. This was truly comforting.

Thanks again, all for the kind comments. Sacrosanct wrote: Your arrangements are always fantastic, Greg.
I hope we can dig into song arrangement as a group at the next Vancouver seminar. Perhaps even do one from the ground up, as an exercise? Something simple, a song everybody knows. We can definitely talk about simple song arrangement in Vancouver. In the meantime, have you checked out this video? Marty, here are the chords I used, in case you want to take a stab at this approach: GMaj | B7 | CMaj | GMaj Emin | A7 | D7 x 2 GMaj | B7 | CMaj | GMaj Emin | DMaj | CMaj | GMaj There are different voicings throughout, with an occasional 7th added The trickiest part was playing the high GMaj in the 2nd verse. Have fun! extremely helpful thread page re-embedding:

It was a treat beginning a lesson with you playing this piece as Skype connected. This arrangement is a really good one. Any chance a StaffTab chart exists for it?

Magnificent music, as always from you. So sorry for your loss. My dad passed away last month, still feeling his absence.

That was definately one of the best versions I´ve heard of that song. Beautiful playing too. Well done, sire!

Again, I just want to say thanks so much for all the kind comments. Luc wrote: It was a treat beginning a lesson with you playing this piece as Skype connected. This arrangement is a really good one. Any chance a StaffTab chart exists for it? Thanks, Luc, I'll try to put one together eventually. Working on several others currently...more about that later..

greg wrote: It's always a risk, playing a tune like this. You wonder if people will want to hear it AGAIN, and what you can bring to it. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this piece. greg wrote: Asked to provide music for my recently departed Aunt's memorial, it seemed like a good selection, and it's a tune I've never arranged before so it presented a nice manageable challenge. The chaplain suggested it before I could, so it seemed destined to be.
I set to it, trying to come up with some chords that made it more interesting to my ear, and I liked how it turned out enough to want to make a video. Love the arrangement and your playing, a beautiful tribute to your aunt. Thanks for sharing.

Very inspiring, I'd love to be able to play this on my stick. I just started in on your DVD lessons, I am going to try learning this as well. Thanks for sharing so freely, and for the quality DVD as well. RandO
