Re: The title says it all...
The title could almost say "Good By Pork Pie Hat" . I like how it weaves in and out of theme... `J`

Maybe it's the ad lib style who gives that feeling because I was not thinking about Goodbye Pork Pie Hat...lol. For me it's a blues with "extra chords" here and there...like many jazzmen like to do. It's a lot of work for me on the Stick while it's so natural on guitar. I can even put more chords on guitar and it flows naturally...but...I'm still learning on this marvellous instrument...Hoping God gives me many other years to explore...

Re: The title says it all...
I know how it is with guitar. The Stick is so different I usually don't try to do the same things on Stick that i do on guitar anyway. I just consider them different modes of travel. You must imagine Mingus toying around with a lot of different chord structures before the signature landed . Yes, as many more years of creativity as we can squeeze in . jRj

I prefer to transpose my musical knowledge to this new instrument, the Stick. I try to do the same on piano. I have a good basis on harmony and I use it this way. I want to be inspired by the instrument and not the contrary.
