If You Could Read My Mind and 6 month playing Update
Hey guys, yesterday I made an update video to mark 6 months of playing and to talk about my first FULL song to post. I stole this from David Tipton who graciously had no choice in the matter. I did have to adapt to 10 strings but it wasn't that much work. I also made up a left hand chord sheet for anyone who would also like to play this lovely song. It's in a PDF and I'll post a link at the bottom of this post. I meant to post this yesterday but y'know how you mean to do something and it doesn't happen when you want it to. Oh well! It's up now. I hope you guys enjoy it. Also I've learned that it's a bad idea to drink and then try to make a performance video, lesson learned. So the performance is from today. Well done, Andy! That was really nice. Thanks for including the chart...Now I'm totally going to have to steal this, too.

I debated staying up to watch the video last night, but I am in the process of fixing my sleep schedule. I am on my way to YouTube now, though, so I will comment there.
Thanks for the PDF; by the way, you may want to attach it to this thread so that you do not have to worry about the MediaFire link expiring.

Way to go Andy! That was awesome. After only 6 months of playing I was nowhere near this good. Keep it up!

That was fantastic. I've been playing for four times as long as you and still could not pull this off. Great work.

Excellent work, Andy. It is really great to have a young talent join the community and kick us old guys in the butt. Er, I mean inspire us to go practice! I am impressed by your even tempo and musicality. I strive for those at my ripe young age.

Andy, Wow- congratulations on a very musical and listenable performance! Were your fingers that long when we SKYPED? It is really great to see your progress and the full performance of a piece without the usual clams, and "OK here comes that hard part I'm sloooowing down, Ok got through that, now to speed up" very nice! I really liked how your Left hand kept the meter and the beautiful arpeggios and the dual stops in the Right hand. The thumb harmonics, I hope everyone caught those at the end, were well thought out and added an icing on a already well baked and tasty cake. great job, looking forward to more, Dave Brosky

Thanks for the PDF; by the way, you may want to attach it to this thread so that you do not have to worry about the MediaFire link expiring. I know how that sleep cycle trouble goes. I'm Narcoleptic! I tried to attach the file to the thread, but it was too big, even compressed in a zip it was too big. If you know how to get around this, let me know. tiptonstick wrote: Way to go Andy! Thanks Eric, I only wish I could have started sooner, but then again I feel lucky enough to even be a part of it all! dbrosky wrote: Andy, Wow- congratulations on a very musical and listenable performance! At first I was playing the song just wayyyy too fast. I had to really practice some self control to not play it so fast. And thanks again to everyone!!! It means so much to me!!

Re: If You Could Read My Mind and 6 month playing Update
Way to go Apro!! Six months man......,! I wasnt even close to playing like this at that time. Nice to see a complete piece from you. I recall you posting that its hard to finish a tune; well, you did it....so congrats. To me, this arrangement was really hard to commit to memory. I dont know why.....Took ages just to play the bass part with some conviction. David changes up his G shapes and turns it around a few times there as well, very sneaky, that Mr. Tipton...
Anyways man, good show.....dug the entire Pabst infused intro too. Great stuff!
cheers, kev

And I see that you are a short 8-hour drive from me here in Madison, WI. If you are ever passing near here let me know. I'd love to jam! And, btw, you remind me of some of my programming students. Are you learning that, too? -Eric
