When you find variations that are more difficult than others, take note, and focus on those. Beyond "warming up", there's not much point in practicing things that are easy for you.

Amen to that! Nothing wrong with practice, but I spent a lot of time practicing things I could already play, just to hear myself doing something with some success, I reckon. Not much growth happens there. Some, but not much.

Nice one Greg! I sure hope you get at least half as much benefit from creating these lessons as we do from practicing them :D Thanks!

You are most welcome .

I absolutely get a lot out of doing these videos. They help me focus on critical elements more clearly, which makes me a better teacher. Also, when I find an exercise that resonates with my students, I'm much better off if I can point them to a video rather than spend their private lesson time showing it to them. We can touch on the concept and move onto something else.

This particular video amplifies concepts put forth in my Basic Free Hands Technique DVD, so if it encourages people to buy it, then that's good for me, too.
