Skronks are currently my specialty.

Re: My first video - "Collision"
Really beautiful musical ideas and so well executed that I thought it must be 'lip synced' but no, I could not find a flaw (and i just got lost in the tune anyway ). Looks like a pollycarb too; the sound of the bass has that unique signature. Another point of interest for me was the drums and a looseness that is a nice complement to the very precise playing. Great. jRj

Re: My first video - "Collision"
It starts in 7/4, then goes elsewhere and comes back with natural feeling and flow. If the "Collision" name was inspired by the odd rhythms, then it's the smoothest gliding crash I've ever experienced.
I'm hyping it a bit, but I love the totality of the song. I'm sure that JTK could bring it off live with his Stick as the mainstay of a quintet with drums, percussion, wood flute and sweet synth orchestration. He could create a set around such original songs and Stick centered arrangements, maybe even a career - fertile ground I'd say.
The drums gradually open up, stretching out the mysterious meters - an emerging force. Was that all programmed percussion or is there a live drummer in there? Those rhythms make me want to fly!
Dave brought up "no skronks" to emphasize the perfection and polish of the piece, but Dave, if I may cause you to pause, skronks can be artfully done, adding to the arsenal of "finger effects" (altho that first string might eventually wear down). On my Railboard I can control a skronk at any fret along the board, raising the pitch of any given note by 4th, flatted 5th and 5th intervals, depending on how far over I skronk it (the Rails are that precise).
I also did this "effect" on my bamboo Ten-String Grand, altho the high note was a bit unpredictable from fret to fret. For key centered play, you could count on it tho.

dbrosky wrote: I not sure of the title, since I didn't HEAR any "Collisions"... If memory serves, the title comes from the fact that his drummer played two tracks, and there's some interesting interplay between the two sides. It was nice to be reminded of this track; I really like this piece. Good Stick playing and tone, the composition and chord changes are quite cool. Bravo!

JTK.!
I love the transitions from 2:20 through to the end. You've obviously got a lot of music in you, to adapt to the Stick. From a first video looks like you have a bright future as a Stickist.
Yop..!!

Wow, really love this piece - great sound and listened several times as I was enjoying it so much! Hope it won't be too long before we get another.
