Greg - Do you happen to have a pattern for your lap bar available?

Randy sure, here's a pic. I don't usually use it with my regular Sticks, because they are too high up. But it works great for the SG12 Attachment: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1389572690.311513.jpg

Thanks for this, Vivaldi would be inspired to hear you play it. Harry

BSharp wrote: Greg said it was a simple arrangement and so it is, with LH chordal arpeggiations taken right out of "Free Hands", lesson 2, page 8. That's serving the music and so I found myself noticing other things:
- The sweet sound of those high notes on the SG-12. Why is it that a shorter guitar scale neck produces thicker, "creamier" highs when everything going on behind the tapped string (toward the headstock) shouldn't matter? (Well, the nut height settings matter.)
- The pauses, retards and generally the "liberties" that he takes with the rhythm, classical style. Greg shows a special feel for such subtleties (or were they written in the score?). Either way, Greg honors the composer . It turns out that my early chapter about three-note bass-with-chord accompaniment suits this genre very well.
Many thanks again Greg, for displaying another facet of your musicianship (as well as of my instrument design). Hi Emmett, That .0065" string (yes, it's that skinny) has a little magic in it, and the PASV-4 makes the whole melody side very round and pure. Your inverted 5ths tuning makes this kind of voice-leading through chord inversions so easy. I was really happy with that BbMaj to FMaj/A at 0:38, which uses the "X" fret for the low A. It sounds very "guitar-like" to my ear. While it was never one of my favorite songs, when I started learning your version of "Whiter Shade of Pale" in Free Hands the ease and effectiveness of that kind of accompaniment became crystal clear. Cheers!

-Marc- Thanks, Marc, The SG12 is a really different sound and feel. I find I do have to concentrate more on the fret spacing, but only because it's different from what I'm used to. The upside it increased reach, which makes some new left-hand chords possible or much easier to play.
