Post Spooky Groove
Every day or two, I try to come up with a new exercise on my bass guitar. Some hit, some miss. It's about 50/50.

I rarely ever record, and I'm still pretty much an amateur when it comes to Ableton (my DAW of choice), but I really liked this bass groove, and I thought I'd see what I could put around it.

All that said, I consider myself rather proficient on the bass, and the groove is pretty infectious. However, the mixing needs some work, and when the alto stick comes in toward the end, it's just a little off. Alas, such are my latency issues.

Anywho, enough chatter. Enjoy!

P.S. On another note, it's been ages since I used the alto. I switched to the NS/Stick half a year ago, and haven't looked back (though I'm still trying to find the right tuning). It was nice to play the alto again, but my hands - being odd as they are - are better suited to the bass guitar scaling of my NS/Stick.

Man, that could have gone on a lot longer! You're right, that was totally infectious - and fun. I wanted it to keep going and building!
That's a great idea; I hope you develop it and we can hear a complete version sometime soon!

I listen to a lot of this style of music while working - Freckles, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Problem kids and all the old school big beat propellerheads, chemical brothers and John Kelley.

It would be great to hear more of this style with Stick, especially the Alto as all the low end bits could be handled in Ableton allowing you to focus on riffing and building melodies.

It sounds great, please keep doing what you're doing! Awesome! :D
