"What Once Was" - last tune for a while
Hi all, This is the last of the tunes I had "in the can" so I guess I need to get back to recording I wrote this tune in 1983/1984 and recorded it as a straight acoustic guitar duet. Just a year or two back, I re-recorded the original acoustic duet and stuck pretty true to the original except for adding some spacey ambient stuff (on electric guitar) and then adding an Alto Stick accompaniment that comes in around 2:30. Enjoy. https://soundcloud.com/gpoorman/what-once-was

Lovely warm and close-up acoustic guitar sound! You really found that guitar's "sweet-spot key" for this chord vamp. Great that the Alto Stick just adds subtly to the atmosphere; it sort of enriches the guitar through the late part of the piece.

Gorgeous, and recorded wonderfully. You've been absolutely dialed-in, man. It's just too bad we're going to have to wait to hear more.

Re: "What Once Was" - last tune for a while
Thanks for all the comments (on all the tunes) guys!
I have stacks of cassettes that I made back in the 80's. A while back I started ripping the material to the computer and although the quality of virtually all of the recordings make them almost unlistenable, I can still spot a few gems here and there so I started re-visiting the ones that I still like mixing them up with some new tunes.
One of the things I love about the effort is seeing how I can introduce the Stick to these tunes sometimes replacing several tracks with just one.
There are plenty more (both old and new). I just need the time to get back to it.
