I didn't know the Spongester had so many songs in his repertoire list.

Post Re: Upcoming Jam/Improv
Well, it happened last night. And my computer experienced an utter failure to make a USB connection when I needed it to. I couldn't figure out how to make my interface send signal to my computer; not without spending half the night on it. So we just played.
I know, I know, it sounds like a chickenshit cop-out, and because there's no recording there's no proof that anything actually happened, but you'll have to trust me. We played. And it was fantastic.
I spent all but the last 10 minutes on Stick (the remainder was on drums), and Jim spent all but the last 10 minutes on acoustic guitar (not his original instrument; his last 10 were on keyboard). We fumbled, we noodled, we plucked and tapped. We were good, and we sucked. And I'll be god damned if MUSIC didn't come out!!
Side note: I can't believe I was able to play as long as I did. We didn't play for 2 hours straight; there were plenty of breaks, and we had a lot of catching up to do with each other, but I was really surprised that I was able to play as long as I did. I'm a little sore today, but not like I thought I was going to be...not even on my sprained left middle finger! It was the longest I've ever played my Stick in one sitting, and it was also really the first time I let myself spend any significant time just being creative and letting go.
I cannot express how great an experience this was. It's going to happen again, for sure. Last night actually formed the germs of some good material, so we'll get it recorded next time.
I'm gushing, I know. It was just so GOOD!

Sprained finger, that's not fun. I struggle with numbness when I wake up in the morning if I've played a lot the night before especially on a classical guitar with extra thick strings. I can only find fake copies of Yamaha strings here in Indonesia and the fourth string breaks like the next day after I've just put them on because I don't just strum root position guitar chords like most players here. That's why I bought thick strings. Thick strings sound good too but the pins and needles almost aint worth it.

Dude. That sucks. I know the feeling, usually because I space out and forget to press REC.

Bummed about the lack of material to digest... When are you guys getting together again?
