Victor,
Wow- what an accomplishment with only 11 months under your belt(hook)!
I thought it was beautifully played. I look for how listenable the final product is and not with biased ears "well, they've only been playing so long" -which cuts both ways, if you were playing for 60 years then the pedants would say "well, they should be better"- oh, can you do better? - here's a Stick, "oh, no thanks, have to go...." So be very proud of your work here.
The song was very listenable, emotive and your lilting side came through with those really nice pull offs. It appeared you were "in position" and you can still be "in position" if that is a good comfort zone for you, but when you have
repeated notes, like you did with your pinky finger, you should alternate fingers for control, dynamics and all the other great reasons Greg has and shows on his DVD Free Hands. So bop between the ring finger and the pinky and then on the last note of the repeat set yourself up for the next passage or where you need to reach or be.
As I tell my students and mentees, no CD comes with an excuse sticker and if you find yourself talking over a CD or a video saying "ahh, I missed that Dm7, or I was late coming in there, or the drums were too high, or missed that vocal pop or hot spot" stop and re do it. re mix it, or fix it.
You will NEVER be able to be in all places at once, all over the world now with Youtube,
and be able to talk over your mistakes on product you put out too early. This live unedited video is rough ( as I discussed in another post) so don't be too tough on yourself, but if you really can't sleep at night or have cognitive dissonance over it, then re-do it. Because when you are unbelievably famous, TMZ will surface it!
Don't worry about covering a song- in the sixties it was de rigueur and even Clapton covered himself with Layla!
You are among the classiest, intelligent and supportive musicians on the planet in the Stick Family, so please keep them coming and 9 more and you can play out. No Kidding- at least a good hour set at coffee house, open stage or art gallery!
Great job and kudos on the post,
Dave Brosky
