Hey Greg. Thanks for the comments about technique..! It's funny how I can get a pretty fluid sound now without too much practice and then after some time playing I really notice things loosen up.
This is why I teach people to learn the basic technique first. Once you get each of the three-finger scales and intervals patterns down, and learn the basics of the position-shifting techniques, learning tunes and improvising is much, much easier.

If you focus only on learning tunes, but not on the underlying techniques illustrated by the tunes, you're only learning the tunes and the fingering patterns associated with that tune.

Cheers!

Yeah Greg. I'm starting to find that the Stick really begs me to go for different versions of the melody notes, in different parts of the touch board, just so I can get the tone I want.

Your position shifting strategies have really helped me there and liberate my note choices.

Stickist regards...!

Very enjoyable! Don't know the tune, but I still liked it. Good job!

Hiya.

Trouble is from the first Coldplay album Parachutes. Wikipedia claims it's one of the bestselling debut albums of all time, though the band weren't over the moon with it. Funny how that can happen...

I'm not a Massive Coldplay fan, but I have watched them influence the pop vanguard for some time and I've enjoyed watching a truly great band contribute over a long period of time.
