Re: Four by Miles Davis
Very Cool. That was the first jazz tune I ever tried to learn....36 years later, still don't know it, LOL. Give what away Greg?

Re: Four by Miles Davis
Gene, Great rendition of a great tune- I agree with my esteemed colleagues- really nice solo- flowed beautifully though the 1/2 tonal key ii-V7 changes, you do some really cool stretches and then a "floyd cramer" (root on top, 6th to a 5th pull off) to transition very R&B, and a 9th chord slipped in there (5th on the bottom, then the 9th, and then the 3rd) ie. Bb-F-G (Eb9-Eb in the bass) as a lead off- simply amazing.
Most of all the whole tune was listenable, kept the audience's attention and was very musical. Great arrangement of a commonly called Real Book 1 Miles tune [IMHO at least in my circles here.]
You've got great hand, eye and Fred Astaire coordination to come right back into position! thanks for another one of "Gene's Gems" Dave Brosky

I really like the gear shift when it starts to swing. Nice.

Re: Four by Miles Davis
The spin was great, but the "Aw, yeeah, bee-atch" gesture at the end is priceless!!! This is actually one of the Real Book tunes at the top of my list (right now I've started a bit of work on "All of Me"). I like your interpretation very much!!
