Post Dreaming In R'lyeh
Hi guys,

Here is a new demo that I finished. This one, again, has all parts done on the NS/STICK except the programmed drums.

The voice-over is done by Lance King (how cool is that...you never know what someone will do for you unless you ask...haha).

This song is the classic tale of the monster that wakes up from his sleep beneath the sea and eats the city.

Enjoy and tell me what you think,

Dr. Froth

Great job!

Sounds a bit too joyful for a 'lovecraftish' song to me though :D

Yeah...I suppose it would be a bit joyful for Cuthulu...

Unless you WANT him to eat the city...which I do :D

Do you play a part of your solo with a pick on your stick? It sounds like this...

@Kataway

Hey there. No, all the solo stuff is done by fingers (pluck or tap). The only time I ever use a pick is when I am trying to simulate a heavy distorted rythem guitar (and only then because I can never simulate the palm muting just right otherwise). In this song it would be the background portion from 1:43 to 2:14 or so.

All leads however are purely fingers...as the lords of bass commanded...hahahaha :D

I'll post some videos on youtube some time once I get a working webcam and demonstrate some of my "Pretend You are The Gee-tar Player" techniques.

Hope you enjoyed the song and thanks for commenting.

One of my favorites for sure, at least parts of it :|. Really dr.froth, the spiritual quality of
the first portion of the song is so high that the supposedly evil/humorous counter balance of the mid section just can't compete....

Don't get me wrong I wish I could do something that good,
maybe someday, but in your case this music is touching on something that is so close
to great that IMHO I think you should go the extra mile...

I am a big lover of Prog especially creative stuff, so old school for sure,
(because sooner or later we start to get that way  ),

but some of Steve Hackett's solo albums, also Hatfield And The North; lots of thematic
changes and voices and unusual treatments... I don't know, it is hard to critique something
that I couldn't do better myself :geek: but i think you have something here that would be
wonderful if it were worked up a bit more.

All the best intentions.
