Greg,

My 2 cents on this.
- The video looks great and sounds good. (+)
- There is a LOT of information on the video; this is nice (+) but I found it a little bit overwhelming (-)
- I don't see myself picking up a song in this format only. I would need first to study the song in classic notation or staff-tab and the video will act as a reminder / guide after I could play the song by heart.

Personally I think that this will work better at a MUCH lower speed (50%).

Cheers, Daniel.

The lesson video for this song arrangement is now up on YouTube. It's a half-hour of highly tabbed material. Hope you like it. I started a new thread for the occasion. I'd be most grateful for any feedback you may have. I realize a half-hour is a lot to sit through, so hopefully you'll come back to it as needed.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions in this thread.

Greg,

I have been working through this lesson now since my original post. Thank you so much for posting this! The production quality is superb. The tablature accompanying the lesson is EXTREMELY valuable. Perhaps this is just my best way of learning, but being able to see the juxtaposition of you playing and the tablature is way better that working through a book or trying to reverse engineer a clip. If I have one criticism it is that once you start putting the base and melody together, things start going a little to fast. I'm sure this is primarily due to my ineptness. The thought process you employ and describe in the arrangement is to me fascinating. Only a little is getting though, i'm sure this is due to my relative lack of musical knowledge.

I kinda feel guilty. I have played guitar for years and been trying to "teach myself" stick for a couple years now. I've paid for guitar lessons that were a fraction of the utility of this lesson. How can I support your ongoing efforts?

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

thanks for such a kind comment. I'll take your point about things going quickly when both parts are happening at the same time seriously, for sure.

As for supporting my efforts, don't worry about that. But you can do a lot to support your own efforts. If you don't have my DVD, pick up a copy, there's lots of good stuff in there, and sign up for a lesson via skype if you like. These things are good for my bottom line, but great for your development as a player, and that's why I put them out there.

Thanks again!
